What a Week!!!

This has been a busy week to say the least. I worked four out of the five days. But the fun part of the week started Thursday night. Marisa and I enjoyed our trips to several bridal shops to find a bridal gown on Thursday night and Friday. We had a great time and believe it or not found the perfect gown. Sorry we can't divulge the details :) (John reads this blog and he's not allowed to know :) Naturally we had to have lunch at Panera's....

You should know that we had help making our gown selection because a crack of thunder was heard overhead which confirmed our choice by the gods. I can't help remembering how the gods in Homer's Odyssey would express their views via Zeus's thunderbolt and by golly we got the message when we chose this particular gown. It's a beauty!!!

Obviously I had little time to knit, but I did manage to get halfway up the front of my Rowan t-shirt.

Today I'm off again. This time it's a wedding. I sure hope the rain holds off for the church at 2 pm. Well....gotta dash and get ready for the day. Wish I didn't have to miss Sue's Spin In or the Sheep and Wool at Tolland...boohoohoo....

The Frustrations of Blogging

Well....I gotta say I'm PO ed big time. Yesterday my blog template went south. The D*#m page displayed improperly and was essentially unreadable. What a bumma!!!! Today I had to use a new template and consequently I lost all the html customizations I had on the blog. Double bumma!!!

Well I'm back....

Of Sheep in the Garden and the Knit In

This cheery sheep loves his spot in the garden. Just couldn't resist posting this. Marisa and John gave it to me last Easter. As you can see it loves its place in my driveway garden next to the Echinacea.

Last night we have a good time as always at Sue's R I Handspun. Sue and Paula had a great time showing us their dye results. Sue has some luscious mohair kid/silk in some colors I couldn't resist. Paula produced some lovely greens from her dye pot using myrtle. Marie knitted her blue Lionbrand project;Helane worked on a lovely purple cardigan in Bartlett;Barbara knitted a colorful hat;and Judy continues to knit her beautiful shawl with dyed wool/silk and beads. I managed to finish the front of my Rowan t-shirt.

Well off to work.......

This raglan t-shirt is making a second debut. I started it last spring in Rowan Summer Tweed and never finished it. Sound familiar? If I really make an effort I may be able to wear it soon! The yarn is a lovely cranberry with hints of avocado.

Spring has Sprung

My viburnum is in bloom. I love this shrub so much. It really has a strong scent that believe it or not is somewhat funereal, but I still so much enjoy its white and pink flowers. I managed to purchase some pansies and black violas for my planter....ahhhh spring flowers!!!

My New Socks!!!

This pic doesn't do them justice . I am the luckiest person in the world!!! Yesterday Marisa and John came for a visit. John knitted for me his first pair of socks with a turned heel!! Once again his knitting is so well executed. He even did a kitchener toe!

Marisa is almost finished with her hooded sweater for John. It is also so well executed. John tried it on yesterday afternoon and it fits perfectly. Of course, we forgot to take a picture of it. John said he will send one along. Be sure to send us and updated photo of the sweater you're knitting for Marisa, John.

I Can Handle the Rain

Today....I don't mind the rain. Why? Well for starters...I had a wonderful day yesterday at the Knitters' Retreat held at Judtith G's lovely home. We are so fortunate as guild members to be invited to Room Enough Cottage so that we can knit and eat and talk to our hearts content.

Many were in attendance. Lorraine worked on her crocheted ribbon poncho;Sue worked on a self-striping sock and showed us her wonderful dyed kid mohair/silk wool; Judy...knit her own wool silk yarn with beads into another shawl. Sandy brought her machine knit stole; Kathy her Knitters' lace stole in white mohair. Barbara began a Lucy Neatby hat; Janet crocheted a neat vest; and Kristen worked with a lime green stretchy yarn to create a summer top. Carol R wowed us with her super quilt. Jan showed us her machine knit baby bunting with Bambi designs. Wish I had brought my camera :(

Adorable Lamb

This lamb is so cute I just had to post this picture again ! Why is it we are so drawn to lambs. I imagine it's because they are responsible for our fiber addictions. Long live the lambs!!!
